Micky Modo is an Italian-born portrait, fashion, beauty, music and experimental freelance photographer based in London.
Born in Udine (Tina Modotti's hometown) her interest in photography was kindled as a teenager by her love for music, travel and London, where she attended her first photography class.
Then came the opportunity to move the US and she decided for Los Angeles. She started her education in Photography in Santa Monica, California whilst working as an assistant to other photographers, amongst them Albert Watson, and shooting up-and-coming local bands, big name actors such as George Clooney as well as fashion.
Back to Italy to pursue her fashion, beauty and experimental art, she won a collaboration with D della Repubblica in Milan and worked with fashion designer Romeo Gigli.
An artistic collaboration with graphic-designer Spire was formed in 2006 which took her back to London to exhibit at the Brick Lane Gallery with “Fashion Stories" and back to Italy with a series of exhibitions.
For a while she shared her life between Milan and London, with a short break in Berlin, where she directed her first experimental music video for the US band Trashwednesday.
Nevertheless, her heart is in London where she now resides.
